How to Keep Your Tarot Card Jewelry Clean

Tarot Card Jewelry cleaning suggestions

Keeping your jewelry clean keeps its beauty while extending the lifetime of the piece. Without cleaning your jewelry you’re likely to see it become dull and over time it can compromise not only the setting of the design but the stones the piece features. In this article, we’ll teach you how to keep your jewelry clean, and how to properly cleanse it if it becomes dirty.

Keep Your Tarot Card Jewelry Like New

How you store your jewelry has a major impact on how dirty it gets, so take care to keep it away from other items and preferably in a soft cloth jewelry box in its own compartment. Throwing your jewelry next to the sink is a surefire way to get it dirty, scratched, or worse see it sacrificed to the drain (believe us, we’ve been there).

To keep jewelry clean you should remove it before you apply lotion makeup or any serums or oils. These tend to cause build-up in the tiny design details of the piece which can be a pain to get out. One should not swim in pools with their jewelry unless it's solid gold, and even still they should be careful not to scratch the gold or cause wear to the look of the design.

How To Clean Tarot Card Jewelry

If it’s too late for that and you need to clean your tarot card pendant necklace, ring, or bracelet, consider what materials the jewelry is made of. For solid gold, you can use a soft bristle toothbrush and some mild toothpaste and warm water, gently scrubbing, and finish by washing it completely and drying it with a soft towel or rag.

If you wear more affordable jewelry that is either plated or gold-filled, to clean it you’ll need to make a gentle cleansing mixture with liquid soap and warm water. Combine the ingredients in a bowl until you get a foamy solution. Then you place your jewelry in the bowl and leave it for five to 7 minutes, don’t scrub it! After you’ve waited, take the jewelry off and use a soft cloth to wipe all the surface of the piece.

Tarot card earrings will need to be cleaned more often than a Tarot card ring or necklace, but you want to keep them as clean as possible because the more often you put plated gold in soap the less shiny, bright, and beautiful it will be.

PS: If you’re looking to cleanse your tarot card jewelry of spirits, a moon bath, and some crystals should do the trick!
